Golf Ireland

When people think of a golf holiday in Ireland they immediately think of “links” golf , what is links golf? well, it was first developed in Scotland the home of golf and is normally played on coastal golf courses, most courses have large sand dunes with hidden greens and beautiful scenery, Ireland has nearly 30% of the total links courses throughout the world. Playing a links course is so much different from a parkland course, with undulating fairways, lots of bunkers, and in many cases plenty of blind shots, and by the way normally played with a light breeze which makes it even more testing, this is what makes links golf so popular and so different from parkland golf or any other design.

Dotted around the coastline of Ireland are some of the best courses in the world, in fact, Ireland has over 10 courses in the TOP 100. While we boast about our links courses Ireland also has a great selection of 5-star resort and parkland courses, there are just over 400 courses in Ireland, and for a small island that is some achievement.

We have chosen some specially prepared itineraries throughout Ireland however if you wish to tailor-make something special please contact Golf Holidays and we will prepare an itinerary for you
