It was recently chosen to host the 2023 Solheim Cup. Who can forget Europe’s dramatic last hole win at Gleneagles in 2019 and what is sure to be an excellent event however what an excellent golf course Finca Cortesin also hosted the Volvo World Match play for 5 years from 2008. Winners include Ian Poulter,Ross Fisher and Nicholas Colsaerts. Finca Cortesin is worth a visit for the practice facilities alone. Give yourself an hour before your Tee Time to experience all it has to offer. From my experience it is the best course on the Costa Del Sol. [Sorry Valderrama]

Day 5 Golf at La Reserva.
The new kid on the block. Sotogrande is home to legendary golf courses and La Reserva continues this legacy. Carved into the hillside, with natural views in all directions, this 18 hole championship course was designed in 2003 by American Architect and course designer Cabell.B. Robinson. This course has quickly become a must play for every golfer visiting southern Spain , establishing itself, in its own right, as a milestone in Sotogrande’s honourable golf legacy. In addition, both the resort and golf course are classified among the 10 best in Spain by Golf World Magazine. The Ladies European Tour held one of their prestigious events there hosted by Annika Sorenstam.

Day 6 Golf at Valderrama
Voted the best golf course in Europe. Host to The Volvo Masters[Europe’s flagship event] for many years ,along with The Amex World Championship and of course The Ryder Cup in 1997. Tiger’s first Ryder Cup but ,of course, he could not stop Seve and his team win the trophy for Europe. Winners at Valderrama include Tiger, our own Paul McGinley, Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia. Justin Rose, Colin Montgomery, and Bernard Langer who shot a mind blowing 62 .Surrounded by over 5000 Cork trees, the fairways narrow to a legendary small degree of forgiveness. The Cork tress are everywhere, in the fairways, in the bunkers, and eventually in your mind. Coupled the slick, fast and small greens, you need to bring your A game along with great imagination.Valderrama is a must play course on your bucket list and although expensive, it is a once in a lifetime experience. We at Golfholidays will make that dream come through Go for it. You will not regret it.
