I have traveled to the Algarve for almost 40 years and have played most golf courses on offer, what are my favourites , good question the following are my own thoughts as to where and why.

- Quinta do Lago South Course: This course has hosted the Portuguese Open multiple times and is known for its challenging layout and beautiful scenery.
- San Lorenzo Golf Course: Located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, this course offers a unique setting and challenging play, with water hazards on most holes.
- Vilamoura Old Course: One of the oldest courses in the region, the Vilamoura Old Course offers a classic layout with plenty of challenges and beautiful views.
- Monte Rei Golf & Country Club: This exclusive course is located in the hills of the Eastern Algarve and offers stunning views and challenging play.
- Palmares Golf Course: This course offers a unique mix of parkland and links-style holes, with stunning views of the Lagos Bay.
- Pinheiros Altos Golf Course: Located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, this course offers a mix of pine trees and water hazards, with a challenging layout and beautiful scenery.
These are just a few of the many excellent golf courses in the Algarve. Each course offers its own unique challenges and scenery, making the region a must-visit destination for golfers.
